These gorgeous rabbits are up for adoption!

Rabbits can live over ten years, require space and commitment, and can be costly. They are social animals who want your attention and who each have their own personalities. Rabbits are fragile and have delicate spines, so their owner must be educated on proper rabbit handling. Because of this, rabbits do best with adults and older children.

Rabbits need a large cage with a hide shelter, water bottle and food bowl, toys like balls and chew sticks, and a hay rack. They can be litter box trained, which means they also need a litter box. A healthy rabbit’s diet consists of 80% hay with timothy, grass, and oat hays for older rabbits and alfalfa hay for young rabbits. Rabbits also need a large variety of vegetables and greens, a limited amount of rabbit food pellets, and the very occasional sugary treat like carrots or berries.

Rabbits get bored just like the rest of us, and enjoy ripping up newspaper and playing with carboard boxes and toilet paper rolls. Rabbits can be messy and enjoy rearranging their cages exactly how they like it! They need room to roam and exercise outside of their cage each day, but it is very important to rabbit-proof your home areas before letting the rabbit out. They love to chew on wires and destroy paperwork, and should always be supervised.

Adoption Fee: $30.00
Our bunnies are for indoors only.  Adoption includes their neuter and microchip.

**Sprinkles**

Hello!  My name is Sprinkles!  I am a super cute Netherland Dwarf.  I can be a little nervous sometimes when being picked up, but I am very sweet girl that loves pets and snuggles.  Because small bunnies can sometimes be more fragile, I’d do best with older kids if you have any.  I am litter trained and just an awesome little girl!

**Moonstone**

**Phil**

Hello my name is Phil!  When I came into the shelter I was not in very good shape 🙁  I was overweight and couldn’t clean my underside so I was irritated and infected.  The awesome staff here at the shelter have fixed me up and I am ready to find my family!  I am a super sweet and laid back boy that just wants someone to snuggle and pet me.  My family needs to know proper diet needs for rabbits and cannot keep me in a small cage or enclosure so I can get the proper exercise and space I need.  I would do best in a puppy pen or free range.  Please restrict my pellets and treats and keep me on a daily diet of unlimited fresh hay and healthy bunny veggies.  Come visit me today!

**Ox 2**

Hi! My name is Ox. What a peculiar name don’t you think? If you know a thing or two about Oxen, you’ll know that typically they have what is called an “ox-driver” who gives them commands and keeps them in check…well I, myself am looking for my very own ox-driver! I can be a handful, so I do need someone who is willing to put in some obedience training with me and teach me some manners. I need an ox-driver with a strong voice and a loving heart, someone who will teach me my commands, earn my loyalty, but also maybe let me on the couch sometimes? All ox-driver jokes aside, I really am looking for a family who will love me for the rest of my days. I can be a big goon and if you aren’t careful, I’ll knock you right over! My rough-housing is all out of love of course! I can be mouthy and very high energy, so I do need multiple meets to make sure you’re comfortable with my quirks and energy level. I can play with other dogs, but when I’m…you guessed it – stubborn as an ox – I can bug the other dogs and they sometimes don’t want to play with me anymore. I would do best in a home that did not have cats or small children, I’m just too much dog for either of them!

Ox is application only! If you would like more information please stop by or give us a call!

**Carmen**

Hello! My name is Carmen! I came into the shelter as a stray that had been running at large. I was very scared when I first arrived, but the shelter staff has helped me come out of my shell a lot! I can be very wary, shy, and aloof at first; but don’t let that discourage you. Once I get to know you and I learn to trust you I’m as loving and playful as they come. To the staffs knowledge I have not lived with other dogs before, so I would need to meet any potential house mates or play mates before going home with them. To the staffs knowledge I haven’t lived with cats before, so I would need to be cat tested here before I can go home with them. The staff think I would do best in an adults only, just because little ones overwhelm me. Please come and visit me today; I’ve been wanting a home of my own for so long now, and I’d just love to find it with you and your family!

**Thad**

Hello! My name is Thad!  I have the most gorgeous red fur and wrinkly forehead!  So far staff has found that I can be a shy boy at first but I warm up once I get to know my new friends.  I will take a little bit of time to be friends with you, but once I know you, I love you, so my adopter needs to have a lot of patience and understanding!  I absolutely love attention and being scratched! Being at the shelter and being in the cage scares me, so I could really use a new home!  Adopters need to be able to work with me in a positive way to build my confidence.  Obedience training and lots of playtime and outdoor activity would be great for me!   I am selective with dogs and can be a loner in playgroups so I would have to meet any current dogs in the home.  Cats are a no for me unfortunately.  My ideal adopters would be adults and teenagers that are active with lots of love and patience!

**Devo**

Hello! My name is Devo!  I am a very boisterous, happy dog with lots of energy!  In my previous home I was houstrained and crate trained!  I cannot go home with other dogs and no small animals/cats.  I like all the attention for myself!  I would do best in a home that is teens to adults. Teens need to be mature and understanding that I have potential weakness in my rear end sometimes and both play and interaction needs to be sensitive to this fact. Don’t lean on me as it might hurt me!  I would do great in a home that will do lots of fun outdoor activities with me and continue my training!  Come visit me today!

**Sweets 3**

Hello! My name is Sweets, a name that truly fits my gentle soul. I am 9 years young and overflowing with love! I like all people, but would do best with children who are at least 6 years old, as I do have some specific requests about how I am pet and held. I don’t really like my back pet, but I adore when someone pets my ears and cheeks! I also do not like being held, so keep that in mind. I get along just fine with most cats I can be choosy about who I will like or not, but I am OK with dogs. Don’t let my age fool you; I still love to play with all kinds of toys…catnip, string, mice…you name it! I really, really would love my own cat bed and scratching post in my new home; they make me so happy! So, if you are looking for a calm, gentle gal who will keep you cozy on chilly nights and fill your home with love, come visit me today at the Petsmart in Monaca!

**Frederick**

Hello!   My name is Frederick!  I am such an awesome friendly cat!  Look at my funny toes on my one foot.  If I do say so myself, I think it just adds to my awesome personality 🙂  I would love to go home with you as long as you just love me!

I have FIV but it’s really not a big deal.
1. FIV is not transmissible to humans! No way. No how. Never. I don’t care what you’ve heard tell. You should banish the thought once and for all.

2. FIV is about as transmissible as HIV. Which is to say not very. Animals in the same household cannot transmit the disease from one to another except by mating (a behavior sterilized animals will not effectively engage in) or by inflicting bite wounds (not typical even among cohabitants with bad attitudes).

So you know, the same can’t be said for FeLV (feline leukemia virus), which can be transmitted by more casual contact (e.g., grooming, sharing food, etc.).

3. Cats with FIV can live very long, perfectly comfortable lives. Here are some details:

FIV-positive cats can live a long time without suffering any related illness. That’s why many veterinarians, including the feline medicine experts at the American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP), suggest owners never opt for euthanasia based on a positive test alone.

These kitties do, however, require some special considerations. The AAFP’s FIV experts offer the following recommendations:
• FIV-positive cats should see a vet twice a year for a physical exam and some lab work (a complete blood count, chemistry panel and urinalysis should be performed at least annually).
• Whenever they’re feeling poorly, FIV-positive cats should receive immediate care.
• FIV-positive cats should be spayed or neutered, live indoors only and steer clear of environmental exposure to infectious diseases (for example, raw food diets should be avoided).

The Adoption Fee Includes:
– initial feline distemper combination vaccination
– first deworming or stool check
– rabies vaccination (for animals over 3 months of age)
– AVID microchipping
– FeLV/FIV testing
– flea treatment/preventative

**Jezzebel**

Hello! My name is Jezzabel! I am a very spunky little lady who brightens up just about any room I’m in. I can be a little shy at first, but once I warm up to you I’m your friend for life. I would do best in a adult only home, just because I’m a confident girl who likes what I like when I like it. I can be a little vocal but don’t let that bother you, it’s just how I let you know how I’m feeling! The staff aren’t sure how I am with other animals, as I did come in as a stray. I would love to find a forever home where I can be the queen of the castle, and find a family who loves me forever. Please come visit me today!!

**Sherlock**

Hello! My name is Sherlock, and I’m looking for my Watson!  I’ve been living on the mean streets for a while and because of that I look a little rough.  My ears are messed up, and I’m missing some hair.  And I have this thing called FIV.  But that doesn’t mean I’m any less good at loving!   All I ask for is someone to pet me and love me and let me sit in their lap.  I give head bumps!  We can spend the rest of our lives together cuddling and solving mysteries. Come visit me today!

The Adoption Fee Includes:
– initial feline distemper combination vaccination
